Meet at the Second Ave and Swinburne St parking area on Sunday, June 22 and we will begin riding at 2 PM sharp. We will head down the trail, cross the Hot Metal bridge and then bicycle along the South Side portion of the trail and cross over the Smithfield Bridge and head to the bicycle parking area on Sixth Ave near Penn Ave in downtown. We will park out bicycles (don't forget a lock if you have one) and enjoy El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico from 3 to 4:15 PM at Penn Ave Stage I. We may also take in The Pittsburgh Jazz Orchestra and Allan Harris who are performing from 4:15 to 6 PM on Penn Ave State II.
Our return trip will depend on what time we leave the Pittsburgh JazzLive International Festival and traffic. Turn by turn directions for our route from Second Ave and Swinburne St parking to downtown are available here.
Update - the JazzLive venues do not have seating so be prepared to stand or bring something to sit on that you can carry on your bike.
